As the stands are being dismantled, trucks loaded, and weary heads rested, Queensland's Gold Coast has reaffirmed its status as the motorsport event capital of Australia as 314,136 people soaked up the sun, sand and exciting on-track action during the four-day event. The annual combination of 750 horsepower International Champ Car action and 640 horsepower V8 Supercars packed a mighty punch that continues to attract mountainous support from home and abroad.
Day one of the Lexmark Indy 300 was a record breaker as perfect weather attracted a massive attendance figure of 56, 867 people through the gates, surpassing the previous day one 2005 record of 56, 786. The Event also welcomed its four millionth spectator to have attended during its 17 year history. Banana Boat Students Day proved a major hit with almost 11, 000 students, hailing from all areas of Queensland and northern New South Wales, enjoying the event experience. Students were entertained by various performances, presentations, and activities as well as having the opportunity to meet drivers and watch them race.
The familiar scream of Champ Car and the roar of the V8 Supercars proved the perfect ingredients for a magnificent day two crowd of 65, 004. On a day when all race categories took to the track, it was almost early celebrations for the massive crowd in attendance when Australian driver Will Power looked set to claim his second successive top provisional qualifying result on the streets of Surfers Paradise. However Oriol Servia's late call up to PKV Racing earlier in the week couldn't have gone better, with the Spaniard claiming provisional pole on his final flying lap. One of last year's top V8 Supercar performers was young gun Mark Winterbottom and he maintained recent speed from the endurance rounds to record his third straight top qualifying position in the V8 Supercar Championship Series.
Saturday saw attendance figures rise to 211, 819 as Holden's Toll HSV driver Garth Tander took the chequered flag in Race One of the V8 Supercar Challenge that produced a thrilling two-lap sprint to the finish. The final round of Champ Car qualifying ensured that Oriol Servia would line up alongside Team Australia's Will Power in Sunday's big race. In Coates Aussie Racing Cars Ben McCashney scored an impressive victory in Race Three, while Brad Ward was crowned Series Champion after chaos reigned on at the front of the pack. Another drama charged installment of Haymans Electrical V8 Utes provided the perfect start to the day's racing action as Fords and Holdens diced for the lead on the opening lap of Race three which resulted in numerous early race casualties. Saturday night welcomed the inception of IndyFest, with a huge crowd rocking to the likes of Good Charlotte, Kisschasy, and TV Rock.
Sunday's main attraction saw history making Frenchman Sebastien Bourdais become the first ever driver to claim a second Lexmark Indy 300 victory. The Surfers Paradise street circuit precinct was again a patriotic sea of green and gold in support of local hero Will Power, however just as he was last year the Toowoomba driver was struck by a series of misfortunes and made an early exit on lap 19. Holden's Toll HSV driver Garth Tander won a game of survival during the final 27-lap race of the V8 Supercar Challenge to take overall honours and claim a maiden surfboard trophy from the iconic Queensland event. In the final race of Aunger Carrera Cup it was a similarly drama charged encounter as Alex Davison managed to claim the chequered flag, but it was local two-race winner Marcus Marshall who tasted the victory champagne as the round winner. The Lexmark Indy 300 provided the final round of the Porsche Series for 2007 and a third placing overall to David Reynolds was more than enough for him to claim a maiden Championship title.

Thank you for your support of the 2007 Event. We look forward to seeing you on the Gold Coast from October
23-26 2008!
